CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
It has been a very busy year so far, so this report will be brief.
Congrats to all of you that made it to Greenville, I very much wished to be there also, but could not get clear of other priorities. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the Mentor shoot, Labor Day weekend. Please note; The Rangers need to know how many of you are coming in a camper and or RV, so we can make arrangements for hook up. Also, we’re going to need a head count for the banquet on Sat. evening.
If you are planning on being here on Fri. to help with the open shooting for the visitors and special guests, please let me know, as anyone who helps out noon – 6pm, will get their banquet on Sat. paid for by the Rangers;
If you have proposals for the year-end meeting please get them into Sue, Carol, and myself as soon as possible, so we have time to review and discuss throughout the membership.
Several important issues involving fast draw, firearms and ownership were discussed on Talkshoe Sat. 7-26-08, you can replay the show by going to Gunfighter Gulch and click on the program. We were talking with Fast Draw shooters in Scotland, a very interesting and informative show. Steve Ledslinger hopes to get interviews with various other shooters from other countries.
Till we meet again; Yeee Hawww; Ron Paul, Chairman Ohio Fast Draw Assn.

Kent Sandhagen and Neva Brett
This month I'd like to dedicate the July Internet shoot to Kent Sandhagen and Neva Brett. My club introduced them to Fast Draw a little over a year ago and in that time they have manage to bring Fast Draw to the Central Valley region of California in a BIG way.
For those of you who don't know this husband and wife team they are two of the founding members of the Golden State Gunslingers Fast Draw Club, the first Cowboy Fast Draw Association sanctioned club in Los Banos, CA. They are also the Ohio Fast Draw Association Western Division Secretary and Records Keeper. Their ranch is affectionately refered to as the KeNeva Corral by the local shooting community and they host shoots two times a week as well as the monthly GunFighter Gulch Internet shoot. Their enthusiasm for the sport inspired two other Fast Draw clubs to form in their city and their club recently received a special award by the City of Los Banos for their service to the community. The Golden State Gunslingers will be hosting their first big CFDA shoot at the Henry Miller Wild West Weekend on October 10 - 12, 2008. Check out their website www.henrymillerwildwestweekend and www.goldenstategunslingers.com for details. I attended the Festival last year and I'll be there again this year. The GSG sure knows how to put on a good shoot and the HMWWW is fun for the whole family. I hope to see you there! A big GunFighter Gulch Sixgun Salute to Neva and Kent for all they do for the sport we love!
27 Gunfighters showed up at the Gulch for the July Interent shoot. This month we had almost as many ladies shoot as we did men and they sure put in some good times. I'm glad they are on our side!
For August lets shoot events from the upcoming OFDA North Coast Gunslinger Championship hosted by the Buckeye Rangers in Mentor, OH on August 30 - 31, 2008. One set of 10' S/W, one set of SBW 5' to 15' and one set of 8' S/W. Shoot the events anytime between now and the end of the month but hold off on sending the times to me until the last week in August so they don't get lost in the tons of email I receive.

The Shawnee Bandits hosted the 28th Annual Annie Oakley Days contest on July 26 & 27. It was held at the Drake County fairgrounds, in Greenville, Ohio. The two day contests held up to it's reputation, for being one of the best the Northern Division has to offer. On Saturday after the contest, the range was opened up for spectators to try their hand at Fast Draw. Sunday's contest keep everyone on the edge of their seats, when Ken Rich and Ron Zimmerman tied for first place. Ken and Ron had a shoot off, and Ron Zimmerman was declared the winner. Melinda Shingler won both days in the women's division. This was the first time that Melinda and Ron had won an Annie Oakley Days contest! Our hats off to them both, and congratulations!

The Southeast Tennessee Fast Draw Club held it's first contest July 5 & 6, 2008. The Shootout at C & H Corral was held in Evensville, TN. Twenty-one shooters came to compete in the two day contest. The results are as follows.
